Fabulous Festive Wines: online wine tasting

Join us online for an afternoon of fabulous festive wines - there will be something for everyone to cover all you need for entertaining at home over Christmas from fabulous fizz, super value wines to enjoy glass or two with friends and nibbles plus our perfect pairings for turkey, Christmas ham, Boxing Day beef and more!

All your questions will be covered too! Red or white with the turkey? What to look for in a good all rounder to have to hand for unexpected visitors that won't break the bank. What about matching wines with the sweet treats? Which retailers offer the best quality and value for Christmas wines?

We've selected the end of November for this event to give you plenty of time to purchase any wines in time for the big day and take advanatge of any seasonal offers available.

We'll feature six wines which are available to buy from independent online retailer The Wine Society. You will need to be a meber of The Wine Society to purchase these wines (membership fee applies) - one of the many member benefits is free delivery, even if it's just one bottle. We advise buying the wines arund one week prior. Whilst next day delivery is usually available, there are occasions when the courier is busy so please ensure you order your wines in time. You don't need to buy all six! You can choose, perhaps depending on how many of you will be at home, which wines to buy and then taste what you've purchssed with us during the event and listen in to the rest. Please no dont consume the wines, even in part, prior to the event and follow the preparation instructions carefully.

How does it work?

You'll need to open an account with Zoom to access the event. You can do that here! A few days before the event, we'll email an online flip book of the tasting notes together with the Zoom event access link - there will be a password and depending on your devide, you may need a Zoom app (eg iPad or laptop) - if not you can access the meeting from your web browser. Together with the tasting notes and Zoom meeting link ee'll also include how to prepare the wines and we'll list some simple food paring suggestions for each wine so you can prepare (or buy in) something to try with the wines to appreciate how food and wine paring works.

Important

It is essential your web cam is working for the event - blank screens will be removed from the event without a refund - please check your device and any software before the start time to ensure your camera and microphone are working. A chat facilty will be available for anyone who prefers to type any comments. Recording the event in any form is strictly prohibited.

We are proud to feature Riedel varietal specific crystal glassware at every event and online is no exception! This online event will be hosted by Riedel Business Manager Richard J Smith: learn how and why the right wine glass can transform the tasting experience and enjoyment of wine. Richard will use Riedel Performance glasses for this event and the correct glasses to have to hand will be included when we send the online meeting link and tasting notes book. You can purchase a Riedel Performance tasting set here. You may need other varietals such as Shiraz that are not in the set, so you may wish to order once you've booked and have chosen which wines you wish to buy.

We expect the event to last around 2 hours - this is dependent on questions etc - which we love, so feel free to ask any wine or tour question you have.
